In January 2021 we launched the Pacecast – our very own podcast, where each month MD Anita Pace and guests share their thoughts and views on everything from communications and marketing trends to business issues and topical news stories.

This year we’ve taken the Pacecast in a new direction, with each episode featuring a single guest who shares their career story with Anita – where they started out, what they’ve learned along the way so far and the ambitions and passions that motivate them.

The starting prompt for every conversation is an object the guest has brought to the studio that’s meaningful and personal to them and which reveals something important about them.

The first three episodes in the new format have featured local business people who also happen to be Pace clients, while April’s guest is Yorkshire Post editor James Mitchinson.

Anita said: “It’s been fascinating to hear from our guests about their journey to the role they’re in today – what drives and inspires them, the highs and lows they’ve experienced and their hopes for the future.

“While there have been some common themes so far, such as perseverance, willingness to take a risk, and the important role family can play in shaping someone’s approach to work, every guest’s story is unique and contains lessons we can all learn from, and that’s what I love about the conversations.

“We’ve also adopted a feature from one of my favourite podcasts, Steven Bartlett’s Diary of a CEO, whereby each guest poses a question to be answered by the following month’s guest, which creates an interesting connection between episodes.”

Jamie Barrington, sales operations manager at regional home builder Beal Homes, was February’s guest. He said: “Being interviewed for the Pacecast was a great experience.

“The recording setup was professional yet informal, so I felt at very much at ease and enjoyed the chance to share my passion for working in the house building industry with Anita and the wider Pacecast audience.”
